AAFT regards its core business as providing a comprehensive range of reliable measurement data to support breeding programs, stock management, stud marketing and fleece preparation for the alpaca industry.

  ‘Fibre Workshops’ for Alpaca breeders and Client Information Sheets

- Research project to analyse relationship between fibre test data and 

  follicle count data (skin testing).

- Market research to evaluate key demand drivers for alpaca fibre.

- The annual National Alpaca Fibre Seminar

- The Ultrafine Bale project

- Research to identify the need to scour (clean) samples before  testing

- Research on how to reduce the incidence of dark/medullated fibres

- Evaluation of organic alpaca fibre production
