The following statistics are annual averages for fibre testing conducted by AAFT.
It should be noted that the figures represent alpacas selected for fibre testing & may not include aged alpacas that could have a broader fibre diameter.

The stat's represent the herd averages for 20 huacaya and 10 suri breeders located throughout Australia. The breeders have a herd population from 25 alpacas to about 1000. As the stat's represent an average of all the herd averages, the final figures are not biased in favour of the larger breeders.
