Australian Alpaca Fibre Testing ARI EPD Program Sample Submission
By submitting your sample for the Alpaca Registry, Inc. (ARI) EPD Program your data, generated using an OFDA laboratory fibre testing instrument, will be sent directly to the ARI EPD program. The following characteristics will be measured and used in the ARI EPD Program:
Mean Fiber Diameter, Standard Deviation, Coefficient of Variation, Spin Fineness, Fibers >30 microns, Comfort Factor, Mean Staple Length, Mean Curvature, Standard Deviation of Curvature, and % Medullated Fibers (white and light fleeces only).
Please submit a (cleaned) 1" wide fiber sample retained in the staple configuration in a sealed freezer bag and post to the laboratory address below with this submission form and completed Fibre Import Declaration (as attached). A ‘Guide to cleaning fibre samples before posting to Australia’ is also attached. Note:
Weigh animal before and after shearing to report total weight of shorn fleece. Please type or print legibly all information below.
